Become a Member of TRAC! We invite you to join a special, caring group of individuals who are working to protect West Virginia's threatened wild birds. Three Rivers Avian Center (or "TRAC" for short) is actively engaged in wild bird veterinary care as well as rehabilitation, research, and public environmental education.

Your tax-deductible membership donation will immediately be put to work to provide funding for:

complete veterinary care and physical rehabilitation of hawks, owls, herons, eagles, grebes, warblers, neotropical migrants, osprey, falcons, and more
ongoing research projects focusing on West Virginia's wild birds, giving us the tools to better understand and protect them in their daily lives
award winning environmental education programs to audiences of all ages in a variety of settings, including schools, colleges, state parks and forests, camps, and more.

Established in 1990, Three Rivers Avian Center is a private 501(c)3 non-profit organization dedicated to wild bird conservation as well as educating and involving people in ecosystem stewardship. TRAC is a member of the National Wildlife Rehabilitators Association, the International Wildlife Rehabilitation Council, the National Association for Interpretation, the North American Association of Environmental Educators, the WV Association of Environmental Educators, and the Southern West Virginia Convention & Visitor’s Bureau. TRAC has won awards from Study Web, the WV Department of Natural Resources, the National Park Service - New River Gorge, Huntington/Tri-State Audubon Society and the Charleston Gazette. In addition, Executive Director Wendy Perrone and Education Director Ron Perrone have each received the Distinguished Mountaineer Award from Governor Joe Manchin recognizing over 15 years of dedication to wild bird care and to public environmental education programs that offer a rare pro-active and positive environmental prospective. Three Rivers Avian Center is located on a 102 acre wildlife sanctuary in Summers County, just off Route 20 near Hinton in the New River Gorge. Public tours of the facility are available on the first Saturday of the months of May through October from 1 - 5 pm.

Funds for TRAC come from our members and our public environmental education programs. Grants provide restricted funding for some projects. Your support is vital and will make a difference!

All TRAC members receive our quarterly newsletter "The Raptor Chapter" which includes information about upcoming Center events, news and happenings over the past quarter, nature notes on various avian species, and other general information of interest to our members.
